One thing worth knowing before you commit. Salt water is mildly corrosive over long periods to some materials that surround a pool, particularly untreated metal fittings, some natural stone, and certain older coping and deck materials.
This is not a reason to avoid a conversion. It is a reason to look at the pool’s surround first, which we do as part of the assessment. If the pool coping or the waterline tile is already near the end of its life, converting at the same time as replacing it is better sequencing and usually cheaper than doing the two jobs a year apart.
