Installing, Resurfacing or Building New?

If the surface does not exist yet, that is hardscaping and it is this page. If the pool deck is cracked, faded or worn and you want it brought back rather than replaced, that is pool deck resurfacing. If you are building a new pool and deciding the deck as part of it, that is pool decking.

In practice the three overlap constantly, and the cheapest path is usually to do them together. If you are planning a remodel, resurfacing the deck at the same time as the pool costs less than doing either separately.

How long does a pool deck installation take?

Most run one to three weeks depending on size, materials and design complexity. Site preparation and finishing are what make the difference between a deck that lasts and one that moves.

What materials work best for driveways?

Concrete, pavers or natural stone. The right answer depends on how much traffic it takes, the budget, and what the front of the house looks like. Pavers cost more up front and are far easier to repair in sections.
